7.1.6. Suitability of DPPs

Because a DPP is a high-risk, capital-heavy, largely illiquid investment, it deserves a hard look before recommending it to a potential investor. In addition to the suitability obligations of the investor’s representative (see Chapter Ten), the DPP itself has the obligation to establish standards of suitability and disclose them. The vocabulary on the test was slightly different, (they used the word tendered a lot) and so navigating the different financial vocabulary was a minor challenge.
