Unit Investment Trust Companies

Unit investment trusts (UITs) are an investment company that buys and holds a fixed portfolio of securities that are put into a trust in “units” that are sold to investors (unit holders). UITs have a stated termination date that varies according to the type of investments in the portfolio.
